We may be related! Cornelius was my ggg-grandfather. His wife's name was Sarah, but not Sherer to my knowledge. The census you found is confusing. Cornelius and Sarah's daughter, Mary, had been married to a Kendrick and I assume she was widowed. She had 2 daughters, Nancy & Mary, who are listed on the 1870 census and they are living with Mary's parents. She was married to James Sherer listed in the census. He was 10 years her junior.

Mary's full name (from our family Bible) is Mary Isabel O'Daniel Kendrick Sherer. As you can see, they got her middle initial wrong in the census, too.

I'm sorry I can't give you any more info on Sarah. I do believe that Cornelius' mother's name was Catherine from her listing in the 1880 census as living with Cornelius.

I'd love anymore info you have on them. I didn't have C's death date and thanks to you, I now have another lead!
