I suspect I can provide the link but most of the records I have built up tracing the Shererís over the past 30 years are earlier than 1871. I canít see a Frederick for the date you give, but these are only my records and I havenít looked closely at this period in my researches.

Iím descended from Edward Sherer who was married in Clapham Parish Church (Battersea area) in 1849. His brother Charles Alexander also married in the same church in 1848. Neither to my knowledge had a son called Frederick.

There was an elder brother called Augustus Frederick who had a son called Frederick George who was born in St Olave in 1848. Other children were Marianne Ellen 1851 and Alice Anette 1852.

At the time of the 1851 Census they lived at 5 Camden Street, Camberwell.

If you can clarify your provenance Iíll see if I can make the connection

Paul Sherer
