OK here's what I have found out over the past 2 years.
1900 us census: George Sheridan in Morganfield, KY.age 26 born Dec 1878 (smudged, it could be 1873 which would match the age 26, but it looks like 1878 which would match other census)in Illinois. married less than 1 year to "Mary" no children. A family named "Hicks" was listed just above them on the census form. father and mother were both listed as born in Illinois.
1910 us census: "George Sherden" in Mathews, Missouri. age 29 born in Kentucky. married 4 months to "Claw". The form states it as his 2nd marriage. his daughter "Cardy" age 8 and son "Ray" age 5 are listed. father and mother are both listed as born in Kentucky.
1920 US census: George SH**(smudge) in Biloxi, Mississippi. wife "claudie" and age 42. my Grandfather "Woodrow" is listed along with several of his brothers and sisters, but the 2 children from his 1st marriage are not. "Clifton Lane is also in the household, age 18 and listed as brother-in-law (obviously Claudia's brother)
I found the 1930 US Census under george T Sheridan in Lincoln park, Michigan but all the info matched the 1920 census (except for no Clifton) with 2 new children.
So, the big question: Are the 1900 and 1910 census forms for the same person? I think they are, but there are enough differences that I can't be sure.
Also, I have no info of any of the older generations (except listed here)
I would appreciate any insight or help anyone can give.
b.t.w. The 1910, 1920, and 1930 us census reports I have listed are definately for my great-grandfather. I just need to know if the 1900 one is also him and if he is the same George that the rest of you are related to.
thanks
Jim
