Death Notice

THOMAS J. "GENERAL" a 34 year resident of Washington Township (originally residing in The Devil's Pocket) passed away peacefully on November 14, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was 83.

Tom was a devoted family man, passionate sports fan (Go Irish!), and avid fisherman. He was an especially proud alum of the Philadelphia Electric Company, having retired in 1991 after 42 years of service in Electric Construction. He touched lives wherever he went by his perpetual good nature and Irish charm. He believed in the unvarnished truth, chivalry, courage in the face of adversity and compassion towards others. He was a model husband, father, brother, uncle and grand father.

Tom is the husband of the late Florence M. (nee McGrann); devoted father of Ellen M. Kelleher and Diane M. Palena (Ray); loving pop-pop of Nancy Adams (Dan), Joe Kelleher (Becky), Lisa, Ray and Michael Palena and poppy of Matthew, Daniel, Nicholas and Dylan, Katie and Lily, sister Mary Murray (Francis), cousin Margaret Rose (Peggy) Neeson, and fellow 'Clampett' Pat Machalowski, as well nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tom's Viewing Tuesday 8:30-10:15 A.M. in the McGUINNESS FUNERAL HOME, 573 Egg Harbor Rd., Washington Twp. (Sewell), NJ 08080. Funeral Mass Tuesday 11 A.M. in St. Charles Bor-romeo R.C. Church, 176 Stagecoach Rd., Sicklerville, NJ 08081. Military honors will follow. In celebration of a special relationship with Tom and Father Vince, in lieu of flowers, memorial contribu-tions may be made to: Friends Of Father Vince at the church's address above. Donations will be used to continue construction of a Church in his hometown in Uganda.
