Jasper County marriage records show Jacob F. Shill marrying Sarah J. Quillen on August 9, 1857. Jacob F. Shill b. 12/25/1836 in Mont. Co., OH; d. August 18, 1903, buried Silent Cem., Kellog Twp., Jasper Co., IA. Sarah J. Quillen b. 10/31/1839 in Indiana, died 9/3/1864 Jasper Co., IA, buried Rock Creek Cem., Rock Creek Twp., Jasper Co., IA. Census records indicate they had two children: Rosanna b. abt. 1859, Joseph L. b. abt. 1861. Jacob F. Shill married second Emilia Jane Trease (b. 4/25/1839 d. 6/13/1907)on May 28, 1866 Jasper Co., IA. Emilia's parents were Joshua Madison Trease and Nancy Mayes. Emilia was the sister of my husband's gggrandfather. Jacob F. Shill and Emilia Jane Trease are both buried in Silent Cem., Kellogg Twp., Jasper Co., IA.

Jacob F. Shill's parents were Jacob Shill and Nancy _____. Jacob Shill b. 1794-1799 in Maryland (according to census records) and died 8/13/1867 in Jasper Co., IA. Nancy b. abt. 1807 in PA, died August 14, 1875 in Jasper Co., IA. Both are buried in Rock Creek Cem., Jasper Co., IA.
