Good Morning Marilyn,
Thank you for answering my post.My William C. SHIPLEY can be found in the 1827 land lottery in Habersham Co., Ga. and marrying a (1) Sarah DANFORTH in Hall Co., Ga. in 1823.I feel he was s/o John and Martha SHIPLEY of Franklin Co., Ga. in the late 1790sbut have no proof other than John's 1799 will naming a son William. If you have any hints as to how I go about looking at tax records for 1790 Ky. pls. pass them on to me.I went on google and tried to find them and got very frustrated as I would get to the county tax site and then not find anything.I'm sure I was doing it wrong.
Yes, I have been in touch with LaMona Phillips before and a lot of her info regarding my SHIPLEY / BRYANT lines came from what I gave her plus her research.(Just my particular line that is).Yes, I've considered that CLAYTON may be his mother's maiden name but have been unable to find anything. Can't seem to find a Martha CLAYTON that fits. The only CLAYTON I've found was Frances CLAYTON of Henry Co., Tn. who was 2nd wife of Russell SHIPLEY whose 1st wife was Lydia PRATER.This is the Russell SHIPLEY who was b either Ga. or SC.
Do you have any info on parents of Nathaniel SHIPLEY?I wonder if John SHIPLEY of Franklin Co., Ga. could have been his brother as John made Nathaniel and Robt. SHIPLEY, SR. his executors.
Thanks again for any and all help.Pls. feel free to email me at home [email protected]
