This is the Vachel R Shipley I mentioned.

Got this from Shipleys of Md POC Joyce Herbert recently..then I looked and found it on Find a Grave.

"I accidently came across something tonight that you may be interested in, while looking up some of my own family history. The Howard County (Maryland) Genealogical Society recorded and published all of the cemeteries in this county. Anyway, a very old cemetery was actually located behind the farmhouse of my great-grandparents, where an old Methodist church (St. James) was originally located. Listed among those buried there is a Vachel R. Shipley, born May 7, 1785, died June 8, 1850. He is the only Shipley recorded here, and ironically the cemetery is currently being cleaned up and restored. By the way, Howard County was "Shipley territory" as it was the Howard District of Ann Arundel County, until 1850 when it became a separate county. I may be totally off-base, but I wanted you to be aware of it. I then, much to my surprise, in another Howard County cemetery, found listed a Mary Leake (1894-1973) and William H. Leake (1894-1958). I have no idea if this is anything that you are looking for, since it is probably more recent than what you are looking for, but again, I am just letting you know what I found.
