Could Tidence be a form of TIDINGS/TYDINGS?My Maryland families include both SHIPLEY & TYDINGS.
There was a Tidence SHIPLEY, b. ca. 1796 "of Maryland," who married (secondly?) by 1826, Hannah PERKINS, b. ca. 1808, White Co., TN, dau/o Ute PERKINS from South Carolina & Sarah GANT.Tidence & Hannah had
Three daughters shown on the 1830 Census of Warren Co., TN, under age 5.
Rebecca, b. ca. 1831, Hancock Co., IL.
John, b. 1833; Louisa, 1835; Edward T., 1837; Wm. S., 1839; Ute, 1841; & Iozadock, 1846.
There was a Tidence SHIPLEY, 31, with wf. Lucinda, 32; Riley, 5; Laura, 3; & Wm., 8/12, in Warren Co., TN, 1850. This could have been a son of Tidence by a prior marriage.
