Where was Zebulon Shippy, 1782- 1793?

Zebulon (or Zebedee) Shippy is attested as being present in New Brunswick (then part of Nova Scotia) in 1783, having been evacuated from New York as a loyalist. In a petition for land, dated in 1797, he stated that he came to Upper Canada about 1793 but he did not state where he came from. From census information about the birthplaces of his children it appears that he may have spent some of the time between 1783 and 1793 back in the U.S. Has anyone found any record of Zebulon/Zebedee anywhere during that time period.
