I'm looking for information on Edward and Barbara Shippy of Philadelphia. They had a son Johan Wilhelm Shippy born February 9, 1750 and baptised March 4, 1750. The sponsor was Johan Wilhelm Manger (Monger?) There was a Wilhelm Manger who came to Philadelphia from Germany in 1749 and may be the same William Monger who eventually settled at Winchester, VA in 1756. Wilhelm came to America with a sister and I was wondering if Barbara Shippy was that sister. Edward Shippy was listed in the German church record as English, but his wife no doubt could have been German considering the name of their son. Any help would be great, thanks.
