Oops! I hit the wrong button before I finished. Here is the rest.
Benjamin was baptised into the RLDS in 1865 and Charles
in 1889, both by John Shippy.
Many RLDS records are available through the FHL in Salt Lake and through a Family History Center. It would be worth your while to look at #s 1955386 (Grove Hill), 1954903 (Eastern Iowa-Oran Center and Arlington), and 1927667 (Oelwein).
My branch of the family were not involved with the LDS or the RLDS. I have not yet looked for any Shippys in the early LDS records. After all none of this belongs to my branch of the family.
I would appreciate some of your family history. You must come from Charles Jesse Clark and Ethelyn Shippy.
I am confused by your reference to "Charles's son J.R." I have no such person in my records.
Hope that I have been helpful.
