Carla, the Shock Family Cemetary Assoc., Inc held their annual reunion on July 22 in Columbia, Boone County, MO. In John's will, 1853, he designated "1 acre to be forever in trust for the use and purpose of a family burying ground, to be taken out of the tract on which I now live." In 1992 the cemetery was moved due to highway construction and is now in the city limits but still within the 1 acre.It is enclosed with a nice iron fence. Descendants have been meeting for several years and in 1999 at a reunion it was decided to incorporate and solicit funds to maintain the cemetery using only interest. A member of the Association has an extensive data base and if you will e-mail me privately I will send you her address. David Hurst Shock is buried at Rocky Fork Church, Hinton, Boone County, Missouri.
