Schack family research
Posted by: Laurie Date: January 04, 2002 at 14:52:39

Looking for info on Mathias Schack born aprox 1815 and father Nicholas and his mother. Alsace Lorraine area. Mathias Schack arrived in the Port of NY in December of 1853. He married Katherine Boliver and they had six children: Mathias, Katherine, Michael, Peter, Elizabeth and John. Mathias was a tailor in NY city before moving to upstate NY Lewis County area. Have info from Mathias Sr. to present generations. Exceptions are passenger ship lists, any brothers and/or sisters of Mathias, and a few marriage dates, etc. It has been passed down thru the generations that the name had been changed. We don't know the original spelling. Any help would be great. Thanks.
