Meribeth Shoemake, age 55, of Waterville, OH, passed away on June 18, 2004. She was born in Muskogee, OK, to Paul Shoemake and Joyce Knight on November 25, 1948. Meribeth was hired on August 31, 1970, in San Jose in the Closure Department, as a payroll clerk at Owens Illinois. She then transferred to the Fairfield plant in the plastics department on April 1, 1987. On January 1, 1995, she was again transferred to the Toledo plant where she retired on September 30, 2000. Meribeth was also a member of the Audobon [sic, should read Audubon] Society.
She is survived by father, Paul [Barbara] Shoemake; stepbrother, Harold Rowe; stepsister, Debbie DeMonte, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce; sister, Paula K., and brother, Paul, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) on Saturday, July 10, 2004, at 10 a.m. with Chaplain Paul Bierlien, officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a charity of the donorís choice.
