My Grandfather, Emmett H. Shoffner had relatives living in the area you mention. I have reason to believe that the brother of my Great Grandfather Dr. James Hannibal Shoffner who practiced medicine in Water Valley, MS after the Civil War had a brother who went to the area you are looking into. Also I have a letter from a Mrs Freddye Shoffner of Memphis TN that gives a good run down of that branch of the family. You can reach me at jims2477@msn.com
