I have the DeMoss book, but intend to keep it.

I have another newer genealogy by James Rightman Blanks, I think published in late 1989 or perhaps 1990, entitled "The Shofner Family Genealogy - A Genealogical History of the Descendants of Michael Shofner (1721-1810)." The size (weight) of this volume is perhaps three or four times that of the much earlier DeMoss book.

For specifics, you can contact:

James Rightman Blanks

Tullahoma, TN 37388

Interestingly enough, each and every family name listing in the DeMoss volume is spelled "Shoffner," while each and every one in the Blanks volume is spelled "Shofner." Whether that has any significance as to a strain of stubbornness, or some other such trait, in the Family, I am not certain.

This is the first time I have heard of the Sonja Collins book.

My own branch of the family (descendants of Martin Shofner) is centered in Bedford County, TN. A reunion is held annually on the first Sunday in June at the Shofner Lutheran Church, on the main highway between Shelbyville and Tullahoma.

If I can provide any additional information, please advise.
