Alan, Do you have any birth or death information for Philbena from her grave which you visited? I have her name as Duirr from another online board. If Sonja who started the inquiry into George Shoffner is correct, then he named a daughter Philobena, presumably for his brother Michael, JR's wife. My Philipina's father is said to have been Michael and George's daughter is too old to be her. If all of this is anywhere close to right, then I suspect my Philipina was named for her aunt Philobena by Michael Shoffner, son of George and sister to Philobena. This third Michael was born 1780 and would have been about the right age to have a daughter born 1812 as was my Philipina. Sonja says several members of George's family went to Morgan Co. area of Indiana as did my Philipina, so they do just have to be connected. Do you know where in Tennessee they went from North Carolina? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Connie
