Christopher Shofner was born in Orange County, NC 25 July 1789. He left NC and went to Bedford County, TN where he settled on Duck River. Later, he moved to Lincoln County, near Mulberry and settled on a farm on West Mulberry Creek. He married Mrs. Elizabeth Hale, a widow with one child whose name was Mary Hale. Mary married a man named Jenkins. Christopher and Elizabeth Jennings Hale were married 15 Jan 1811. Christopher was only 37 when he died in 1826. Both Christopher and Elizabeth are buried about 2 miles from Mulberry.
