Nicholas J. Schommer b. 1839 married (1)Elizabeth Jane LOYD married (2) Elizabeth Jane DUNN
Nicholas J. and Elizabeth Jane LOYD had one son John Nicholas SHOMER b. 1863 Cumberland Co., Il. d. 1954 Vernon Co., Missouri.
After Nicholas first wife Elizabeth (LOYD) died in 1868 John Nicholas SHOMER came to Vernon Co., Missouri with his Uncle Matt LOYD (brother to his mother) He was raised by Uncle Matt and his wife.
John Nicholas SHOMER married Ida Mae WHEELER 1892 in Vernon Co., Mo. They had 8 children:
James Arthur married Mary NESBITT
Bertie Mae married George Mervin CONWAY
Charles Edgar married Neva STRADER
Silva Marie (died young)
Thelma Z. married Chester F. COLIN
George R. married (1) Violet HARDIE (2)Marie DOUDNA (3) Pat
Alena Catherine (died young)
Edna Nadine married Leon BROWN
