Shorten; in Utah the morman clan

I'm looking for info on the Shorten family that came across america and settle in Utah. My ggrandmother is Phyllis Shorten (her son is Harry DuRae) and her mother is Josephine Juarez. I don't have the name of her father though. Supposedly he signed a contract to marry Josephine. Because he was morman and she was catholic. It is said that his family disowned him for marrying her. If you have any info please let me know.
