I am looking for any information on a William Shorten and his family who settled in Oswego Falls, what is now Fulton NY, in the spring of 1795. He was a tavern keeper and a driver of an ox-team used to transport river keel boats and their cargos around the Oswego River falls. His family lived on the east side of the river. If you can give me any info on this man, it would be greatly appreciated. I am working on a project for the City of Fulton's centennial birthday and he is mentioned in the history of the city.
Thank you.
