Early Shortens

Hi all Shorten researchers,I have been researching this family, my maternal line for years, and now believe that in 1620 under the plantations in Badon 3 families of Shortens sailed to kinsale, 2 remained in the Bandon area and 1 decided to go to the US. The 2 families that stayed in the Bandon area obviously over the years grew teriffically in numbers and I think all of us who are searching the Shortens are probably all linked but down the various lines.I have been in touch with a few of you over the years but unfortunately found no one researching the Ballingeary Shortens, though i am convinced that they all started from the original 2 familiy settlers, who I think probably came from Somerset taunton or kingston area of England. Can any one throw any more light on this, does any one know what ship they may have traveled on to Kinsale or if not how to find out about the ship. Who has the earliest Shorten record about 1620 ish. I would be very grateful for any info as this is a line where I have been stuck for I do not know how many years but may suddenly be able to move again on. Many thanks, hope some one can help me, Margaret
