Shorten Family History
Posted by: Rebecca Shorten (ID *****3173) Date: May 27, 2007 at 10:12:22

Iam a teenager researching the history of my family and have come to a complete halt on my dad's grandad. My dad has managed to tell me all he knew about him and has said that he was one of 13 siblings born to a couple in the cork region of Ireland. They could not afford to keep him and sent him and his sister to a orphanage in London. His name was Edward Shorten. He later joined the army underage at just 15 and was sent to India where he met my great grandma, Irene Shorten. He spent 25 years in India and then came home and joined the MOD. I am looking for any information about Edward Shorten and in particular my Irish ancestory.
thanks
