A box of documents arrived at my apartment yesterday.It will take a while to sort it out, but here's the first installment:
Item 1: photo of a gravestone, gray marble,SHOULTS John R. Aug. 7, 1883, Mar. 27, 1958; Sadie E. Jan. 11, 1884, Sept. 14, 1972.Additional note: "Nelson's brother buried at Richwood".
Item 2: photo of a gravestone, gray marble; note on reverse: "Nelson Shoults' wife";Clara (Becker) SHOULTS; Mar. 2. 1871, Dec. 10, 1915no indication of location.
Item 3: photo of a gravestone, unreadable, note on reverse "Clara Becker's 2 brothers buried".no indication of location
Item 4: photo of a gravestone, gray marble, Nelson J. SHOULTS, Dec. 14. 1872, Mar. 20. 1956; note on reverse "Nelson Shoults son of Charles Shoults & father of charles shoults (my father).So, the photos in hand were shot either by my Pop, Charles R. Shoults Jr., or by my sister, Janne Shoults-Gorman.

Item 5: photo of a gravestone, weathered gray marble; Jacob I. SHOULTS; DIED Mar.26,1888, AGED 74 Y. 10 M. 29(?) D; "Our darling ... looks to be partly obliterated".
Item 6: photo of gravestone, weathered, stained gray marble; a cross, a name that starts with an 'M', wife of C.H. SHOULTS, died Dec. 24, 1880 (?), Aged mostly obliterated. note on reverse "charles shoults father of nelson" refering to C.H. SHOULTS.
Item 7: photo of double gravestone, gray marble, Patrick M. 1876-1944; Minnie M. 1886-1955; ?HAWKINS? name half concealed by flowers; note on reverse, Minnie Shoults.
Item 8: photo of miniature stone, unreadable, beside temporary marker, also unreadable, no note on reverse.
Item 9: photo of gravestone, gray marble, RALPH SHOULTS, Apr. 15, 1899; Sept. 11, 1950;
no note on reverse.
Item 10: photo of gravestone, gray marble, HARMAN T. SHOULTS, Oct. 7, 1907, Aug. 19, 1977; no note on reverse.

Item 13: Same as item 6, shot in better light, from a different angle; age seems to be 42Y, the rest unreadable; no note on reverse.
Item 14: Photo of gravestone, gray marble horizontal on looks like concrete slab; Roy R. SHOULTS, Apr. 25, 1925, Jan. 15, 1984; no note on reverse. Additional info "at Richwoods"."Roy's son - Alfred".

Item 17: Missouri Department Of Health Certificate of Death: Essie Ellen Shoults; Female; date of death March 2, 1994; age last birthday 89 Y.; DOB March 7, 1904; St. Louis, Missouri (but I'm pretty sure this is untrue; more on her later); passed away in Monett, Barry County.Father's name: Phillip Brady; mother's name: Lillie Licklider; disposition: buried 03-07-94; at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, St. Louis, Missouri. Also: statement from Bennet-Wormington Funeral Home, confirming.
Item 18: Map, General Highway, of Franklin County, Missouri; marked: Fairview Church; Huff; and Luebbering, "Where Charles & Matilda lived 1895 - ?" (possible reference to item 6?).
Item 19: Photostat copy of MARRIAGE LICENSE Franklin County, Missouri.dated 15 June 1895; Charles Shoults of Luebbering, Franklin Co., Mo.; Matilda Pruet of Luebbering; (reference item 6 for sure!) They were married at the residence of Charles Shoults on 16 June 1895 (no waiting period!).
