The only Showalter I've found in our family is Samuel Showalter who married Emma Arabelle Smith in Green Co., PA.From the census records, I believe their children were:
Anna W. Showalter, b: Feb 1880, PA
Susan K. Showalter, b: Nov 1885, PA
Frances M. Showalter, b: Feb 1888, PA
J. Clemens Showalter, b: Dec 1893, PA
I have not found who his parents or siblings were.I've just started on the Showalter side so have no more information except that Samuel (Sam'l) were in the 1880 and 1900 census, and Emma with her children in 1910 and 1920 censuses.
If your library has access to Heritage Quest it is a marvelous tool to find people.I found Samuel and Emma byentering just the name Showalter because the first names are sometimes abbreviated in some way.Although the 1930 census has not been indexed on Heritage Quest, if you click on browse, 1930, Pennsylvania, Lancaster, then click on Earl North. You will find many Showalters there. It is just time-consuming to check each page.
Hope this helps.
