Daniel Monroe Shows(son of James Shows & Sarah Wade Shows) and Sarah Anne Terrell Shows are my maternal great great grandparents. Their daughter, Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth Shows Weeks, my maternal great grandmother, wrote a "Family History Letter" which tells us: "my mother's people was Terrells. They came here from South carlina. My gran father Terrell was one of the first white settlers in Jasper Co Miss. The Indians were there." My best guess readings of the Census led me to assign Sarah Anne Terrell as one of the two female children between ages 5 and 15 listed with Joshua Terrell(& Susannah Land Terrell) in the 1840 Census. I have no further documentation to prove her parentage. Would like to know how you, Mary Peave Laid, discovered Daniel Monroe Shows birth date as August 10, 1821 and his death date as November 29, 1864 ? I have only Census and Civil War Records that led me to (1821-1864/5)Anxiously awaiting your news and any thing that someone may know regarding parentage of Sarah Anne Terrell Shows (1840 JasperCo-1900 JonesCo). She is buried in the small family cemetery, Jones Shows Cemetery, Jones County, Mississippi, next to her daughter Druscilla Shows(1862-1910).
