I understand that one of my Shroyer ancestors (5 generations back) may have been part Indian but I don't have further details. I ran across a news website, however, (http://www.timesonline.com/archive/news/4415164.htm) that mentions Adam Shroyer who married a Cherokee woman named Kazia, shortly after the Revolutionary War. According to the note at this website, Adam Shroyer was the sole survivor of an Indian ambush by Kazia's tribe.
