There were 9 children from their marriage (21 Sept. 1873 in Macoupin Co., IL), and I have the following in my database:
1.Eva O. “Evie” b. 3 May 1875 d. 1965 md. John Wert Miller (1879-1952) on 25 Mar. 1900 in Mercer Co., MO.bd. Ravanna Cem., Mercer Co.2 sons.
2.Lillie Mae b. 19 Mar. 1878 d. 1 Jun. 1971 Portland, OR md. Augustus Cortina Scott (1876-1952) on 25 Dec. 1902 in OK.[“Misses Jennie and Lillie Shroyer will try their luck in the Oklahoma land drawing.”--Cleopatra items, Princeton (Mo.) “Telegraph,” 24 July 1901.]burial unk.9 children.
3.Jennie C. b. May 1880 d. 1966 md. Dr. Franklin A. Peters (1867-1935) abt 1916.bd. Lowry-Snyder Cem., Mercer Co., MO.1 son; d. unmd.In 1938 the Bd. of Veterans Appeals determined that Jennie was the legal widow of the deceased Sp. Am. War vet Dr. Peters, implying that there may have been another person claiming his pension.
4.Pina Edyth “Pinie” b. 21 Oct. 1882 d. 4 Dec. 1977 Mooreland, OK md. John Denver Irwin (1875-1956) on 11 Feb. 1906 at Mercer, Mercer Co., MO.burial unk.4 children.Mr. Irwin had been md. previously, but had lost his wife and their one child.
5.Luther Claude (19 Mar. 1885 - 31 Jan. 1900) bd. Lowry-Snyder Cem.
6.Virgil Wayman b. 8 Jul. 1887 d. 24 Jul. 1960 md. Jessie Leona Toot (1890-1986) on 27 Dec. 1908 in Mercer Co., MO.bd. Early Cem., Mercer, Mercer Co., MO.9 children, the youngest 7 of whom left children.[My wife’s line.]
7.George Elmer b. 14 Sep. 1890 d. 27 Apr. 1984 md. Beulah Olga McClaran (1893-1976) on 21 Sep. 1916.bd. Princeton (MO) Cem.1 adopted son.
8.Edgar b.c. 1893 & d. 1894.bd. Lowry-Snyder Cem.
9.Zola Marie b. 14 Feb. 1895 d. 19 Dec. 1972 md. Oral Glenn Snodgrass (1894-1988) on 15 Dec. 1917.bd. Evergreen Cem., Lineville, IA, just across the state line from Mercer Co., MO.4 children.
Besides myself, I am aware of genealogists in lines #2, 4 and 6 of this family.Lines #1 and 9 may have interested descendants, but I haven’t encountered them.
