Peter, killed by Indians in PA; 1778
I am not related to these people; just entering information.
I have a booklet, 'Traders, Travelers, & Tomahawks' by John
L. Moore, which mentions this man:
Settlers along the West Branch of the Susquehanna took shelter at the fort Samuel Wallis had built part way between the Muncy and Loyalsock Creeks, not far from the present day Lycoming Mall. One of the settlers, John Thomson wanted to return to his farm about a mile or so west of the Loyalsock Creek in what is now Lycoming County."On June 9 along with a friend, Peter Shufelt, and a 16 year old boy named William Wyckoff" they left for the farm. When they arrived "Thomson and his companions decided to fix a quick meal. They were eating when an Iroquois war party ambushed them. The Indians shot and killed Thomson and Shufelt, and took the boy prisoner."
I just entered a little more of this story in the Thompson forum.
