NEW PUBLICATION THAT COVERS PETER SHUPE ANCESTRY & DESCENDANTS
Recent release of "Thomas Goodwin (1648-1743), A Quaker from Wales: a genealogical history of the Goodwin, Klein, Valentine, & Rittenhouse families: their journeys from Wales, England, Ireland, France, & Germany to Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, & Beyond" was published by Otter Bay Books, Baltimore, Maryland, and authored and compiled by Ada Jane Goodwin-Coleman.
The publication, more than ten years in preparation, not only approaches the Goodwin family history through early documents and historical writings and research of previously unknown Quaker heritage, but addresses other extended family lines as well.
The book consists of 1498 pages with over 500 photographs arranged in three volumes that are inserted in an attractive navy-blue slip-case that matches the book cover. The first volume contains nine chapters of the author's direct ancestors that not only include the history of their times, but biographical sketches on each individual. The second volume contains a descendant tree that includes all persons researched who were related to Thomas Goodwin, the Quaker from Wales. The second volume also contains biographical sketches of selected ancestors who are not featured in other areas of the book, and appendices that include the royal ancestry of the author's paternal line. The third volume is a continuation of appendices that include the author's maternal line, i.e., descendant trees of the Rittenhouse, SHUPE, and Valentine families. The first edition (2011) of this three-volume book had a print-run of 50 copies, all numbered and signed by the author.
