Thanks for you info. Two leads in the space of a week!! Please read David Shuttleworths info and my response. Your relative may be connected to a possible son of Lawrence bap 1769 who sired James Shuttleworth B 1839, Died 16/6/1904 Cononley. This James was an executor of Lawrence bap 1829 and must surely have been closely related but not through my immediate Shuttleworth line.
My Shuttleworth line is probably Edmund bap 1717(or Edward), Lawrence bap 1769, John bap 1799 and Lawrence bap 1829.The tenuous link of this family is a piece of land called the 'nook' which is located at the bottom of Shady Lane Cononley and is now a flood defence work. The nook is referred to in tenancy listings dating back to 1808.
It would be useful if I could copy my early tree onto this website but not sure if this is possible.
