I don't have any info specifically on your family but have recently found two references to black Sias families that may give you a lead. In the 1810 census Fayette Co, Kentucky there is a head of household Sias (free negro)with 4 people total in the household. There is no surname. The second reference is to a Eugene Sias who served in the Civil War in Company D, 81 U. S. Colored Infantry (ancestry.com Database: Civil War Service Records)
