I know that information on the Sias name is ambiguous, at best. However, I was wondering if anyone knows of the Sias name having any connection with either Ashkenazi Jewry (Eastern Europe) or, most likely, Sephardic Jewry? I know that my fatherís father came from the northern region of Mexico (Chihuahua), however, I also know of the great Jewish influence in Mexican culture stemming from Crypto-Jews. My grandfatherís name was Alfonso Sias. In our family, we have an affinity for Biblical study. In fact, I am working on a PhD in biblical law and temple cult. Perhaps there is some connection there, perhaps not.
