I was browsing in the Library of Virginia Land Office Patents and Grants and came across only the one card for a name similar to Sias.
" Siars,Joseph 27 Dec,1792
225a On Indian Creek a branch of New
River including the mouth of the Quaking
Asp adjoining the land of Ellison "(looks like Junr).
Grant 27, 1792-93,p 389
This was card # 1 of 73 listed under the s's..but the only one that resembled a Sias.
Since this area is the same area the WV James William Sias (b. c.1812) was supposed to have came to, married Rebecca, and migrated on to someplace in the vacinity of Lincoln Co.,WV,I was just wondering about the coincidence of this Joseph being here.
The only Joseph Sias I have ever found (keep in mind, I've never seen the Sias books), is a Joseph Sias ; b. c 1771 in Canterbury,NH .Joseph was supposedly one of the many sons od Charles and Jane (McCrillis) Sias
Just thought I'd toss out this bit of information since I'm always searching for the orgin of my WV Sias line.
