Obit - WILLI SIECK
WILLI SIECK April 2, 1927 March 30, 2009 The World's Fastest Log Scale It is with great sadness we announce that our husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly due to complications of Alzheimer's disease. Willi is survived by his wife Marianne of 53 years, his son Andrew and his only grandchild Kayla Sieck, as well as his oldest brother Hans Sieck and his sister Elli in Europe. Willi was predeceased by his parents, one brother and two sisters. Willi came to Canada in 1950, settling in Prince George, BC on the Goose Country Road where he logged, farmed and raised his family, later building a house on the Old Summit Lake Rd. After his retirement in 1991 from the BC forest service he moved to Comox, BC, to be near the ocean and enjoy his gardening! During the 45 years he lived in Prince George, working in several areas associated with logging he made many friends over the years and shared many stories of the life in PG as it was 60 years ago. No more words are needed We will never forget you In our hearts you will stay And remembered every day. We will miss his dry sense of humor and his dedication to his family. Willi's celebration of life will be held at Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Rd, Courtenay on Thursday, April 9 at 2:00pm. Flowers gratefully declined in consideration of donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Glacier View Lodge, 2450 Back Road, Courtenay, BC V9N 9G8, where he received excellent care and found peace.
