My grandmother, Maria Josefa Sierra, was born in La Isla, Texas in 1891. She is the daughter of Clemente Sierra & Amada Chavez. She is the granddaughter of Don Nicolas Sierra/Margarita Trujillo who had a small farm (100 acres) in the La Isla area. Many of the Sierras&Trujillos still live in the Fabens/El Paso area. At one time, La Isla was a thriving farm community. It still exists. A small cemetery is located there.
