Sigl Family Bavaria - Furth im Wald, Bohemia-Vollmau 1600-1700s
The time Period is the 1600.My first known SIGL family was
b: c: 1625 ????, Wolfgand Sigl and Catharina
b: 26 Nov 1669 Furth-im-Wald, Johann and Margaret Barbara
b: 24 Sep 1699 F-i-W, Johann Adam and Katharina
b: s 1743 Vollmau, George Adam and Barbara Muelbauer
b: 20 Aug 1780 Vollmau, Joachim Siegl and Juliana Semmelbauer
The first known child of Wolfgang and Catharina occurred in 1664 and was baptized in Furth im Wald, Bavaria. Don't believe Wolfgang was born there and don't believe this was their first child. The Catholic church in Furth im Wald opened its doors in 1664.
The Sigl family of Vollmau, Bohemia moved there about 1730 from Furth im Wald but continued to go to the Catholic Church in Furth im Wald (2 km west).
As long as the baptisms occurred in Furth im Wald, the families surname was SIGL.In 1780 with the arrival of Joachim, baptisms started at a new church in Vollmau and then the surnames were recorded as SIEGL. His previous siblings (5) were baptized SIGL.
My information on the 1600 Sigl individuals is sketchy at best. Can anyone tie in here or shed some light on the Sigl families in this time period in the Furth im Wald general area.I am aware of a Sigl clan in the Regen area some 35 miles to the south. My 7th great-grandfather, Wolfgang, could possibly have come from there.
Am in a quagmire time period (1600s) when records are sparse.
