I don't know if this helps. My great grandfather was Dr. Peter Sigmond who died in Chicot County Ar in 1876. We know very little about his background but Sigmond is an unusual name so perhaps we can connect something. A Peter sigmond bought land in Clark Cty Ind in 1823. He was a resident of Utica and died in 1840.His son Frncis died in 1844 and was the father of my great grandfather. I see no mention of other sons. Peter graduated from Medical School in 1859 and migrated to eastern AR. He served as a Surgeon in the Confederate Army. I see the name spelled both Sigmon and Sigmond. I know grandmother and her brothers and sisters spelled it Sigmond. As I said I doubt if this helps but if so contact me a scracraft@triton.net. Scott Cracraft
