Hi!
I am looking for my gr-grandmothers family. Her name was Waleria (Valerie)Ulanowska and it is said she had 5-6 sisters and possibly 2 brothers. One sister was Joanna, married to ? Sikorski/a. The other known sisters are Anna and Dominka?
Waleria was born in Berlin, but lived part of her life in Gorzno and Posnan Poland. She married Joseph Michael Kruszynski on Aug. 17, 1908, in Poland, and they emigrated to the US in 1906.
I don't have birth or death date for Joanna, but information states she was buried on Feb. 26, 1952, place unknown. Waleria's parents are Francis Ulanowski and Elizabeth Pniewski(?) Other names I have connected to this family are Brunick/Bronek, Irene (Joanna's daughter?), Marian (Irene's husband), Janina, Julie, Anderef/Andrej/Andrejewskiego, Dominte. I don't how these people are connected to Waleria yet.
Other info I think I have figured out:
Anna Ulanowska, married Frank Staskiewicz (d. 10/18/1944) had 3 daughters: Henrietta (Hennia) married to Joseph Swiatek, Viola (called Florence), and Cecilia.
Waleria's mother had a cousin Duniska (Waleria's mother and Duniska's mothers were sisters). Duniska had a daughter Lillian who married Frank Henry Das, they had 3 children: Dorothy, Mildred married Virgil Eugene Norris, Thomas.
Most of the above information came from the back of family photos and in a letter I believe Cecelia (signed Celia)wrote to my grandmother Regina Steupak (in Elmwood Park, Il) @ 1978-1980. Celia was in Minnesota at the time(postmark on letter) and elderly (@ 85 per my grandmothers estimation).
Also searching for Karminska, Mosayenska, Kaliska, Szczupak, Smierniak, Niewiadowska, Burmistrzak, Borowicz, Adamski,Paprocki,Zwierzykowska, Kryger, Kalinowski and Kwiatkowski from the Parchanie/Turzany/Inowroclaw area in Posnan.
Let me know if you think there may be a connection.
Regards,
Maureen Webb
