Extra John

Hello,
I am looking for any and all records for Silers 1738 to 1789. Namely, I am researching Plikard D Siler and children. So I can determine the linage of a John Siler who died in NC about 1790. There is a very strong possibility he was born married and had at least two children in PA or VA and possibly a wife dieing before moving to Chatham County NC and dieing about 1790. The children’s names are Elisha ‘b about. 1779’ and Elisabeth. I know that Plickard had at least one son named John who died in 1831 but I am sure that this is not the John Siler that I am looking for. I have estate probates for each person and they are thirty years apart. Plikard’s John Siler became the guardian of the two children by official records. Any information would be appreciated greatly. I know this flies in the face of the accepted Siler documents but I have official records from the NC State archives that show a different lineage than is currently accepted. I have a suspicion that this might be another brother of Plikard’s due to his time of death ‘ IE 6 years later’. This would bring the brother total to four. In other words I have a extra John Siler floating around in my woodpile and want to know where I really came from.

Thanks for your time,
Donald Johnson
