Correct pronunciation of Plikard

My young children and I were having fun earlier today, reading through some of our family notes tracking our family back to Plikard Dederic Siler. And the thought occurred to me that we are probably butchering his name but then again, does anybody know the correct pronunciation?

Thanks for any replies.

D.L. Hill (Knoxville, Tennessee)
