Wayne, I've just come across a deed. James BARTON/BURTON of Cass Co., GA is selling land to John SILER of Macon Co., NC. Land is located on Cartoogechaye Creek. This was the 14th day of October, 1839. I hope this information is helpful to you.

I'm particularly interested in the James BURTON/BARTON. If you see any connection, or find any information about him - other than the following, please let me know.

He and Susannah BARTON joined The First Baptist Church in Franklin 1834. By Jan. 1838, Susannah had died and he dropped out of the church the following March.

My connection to a BURTON/BARTON line is through Jeremiah BURTON of Rabun Co., GA (15 miles south of Franklin). Jerry was b: abt 1815 SC and died 1902 in Rabun Co., GA. His 2nd son was named Jacob Silas BURTON. SILER? SILAS?

Gerre Byrd
