My great great grandparents, Susan McMillan and Neill Sillars emigrated from Campbeltown in Argyllshire, Scotland, around 1836, settling in Victoria County, Ontario, after a comparatively short stay in Glengarry County. I surmised that there might have been relatives who had settled there much earlier, because MacDonald and McMillan families abounded in Glengarry County. Susan eventually lived in Toronto with her single daughters; Neill died at a fairly early age (early 40's),having left her with 8 children still at home. Do these names sound familiar to anyone?
