I just found this site yesterday and desided to to throw in the little I know about my branch of the Sillars family.
Malcom and Catherine Sillars came from the island of Arran, Scotland in 1817 and landed in Nova Scotia with their six childern, James - ?, Duncan -1788, Mary -1790, Catherine -1792, Malcom -1795, DONALD -1797.
DONALD married Janet Grey and they had six childern,
Margaret -?, JAMES -?, Christie -?, Elizageth -?, Daniel -?, Belle -?.
JAMES married Emma Cochrane and they had five childern,
Myrtle -1897, Harry -1898, DONALD -1900, Gordon -1904, Jean -1919.
DONALD married Josiphine Vandengerg and had three childern,
Myrtle -1936 - died as an infant, Jean -1939, GORDON (me)-1944.
GORDON married Judith Moore and had two childern,
Scott -1969, Darren -1974.
NOTE: For some unknown reason my Grandfather changed the family name to SILLERS. My dad, myself and my two sons continue spelling our name SILLERS, I uncle Gordon changed his name back to Sillars when he moved to the United States in 1947.
The information I have posted here was collected by my uncle Gordon. I do have some more information if anyone would like to send me an e-mail.
Thank you all
