I believe the Malcolm Sillars you are referring to emigrated to Six Mile Brook Nova Scotia, Canada in 1817 with his family (including his oldest son James born in 1785 and James' wife and children) where Malcolm received a 400-acre land grant. The dates I have for the children, most likely baptisms, match approximately. James was my great great grandfather. The name was spelled variously as Sillars, Sillers, and Sellers in Canada and now in various places across the US.
