Hi Gordon -
Are you still out there? James, my great great grandfather was born in 1785. Assuming we're talking about the same family, they landed at Pictou, NS in 1817 and settled at Six Mile Brook. I've been trying to tie Malcolm's son Daniel aka Donald to the Donald married to Janet Gray at Megantic, Quebec. So far, I can't find any "source" and wonder what you know. The last I have of Donald in Nova Scotia is when Malcolm deeded him 100 acres of his 400 acre land grant in 1833. Then Donald disappears, so to speak. The plot gets thicker in that James' daughter Jane Sillers married a Duncan Sillers, the grandson of a Duncan who brought his family apparently directly from the Isle of Arran to Megantic, Que. in 1829. Jane and the younger Duncan later moved on to Dale, Atchison, Missouri (lots of recorded data). The older Duncan also had a son named Donald, born in 1798. Both Donalds are buried at the Presbyterian Cemetery at Adderley (Inverness), Megantic, Quebec. I've wondered whether Duncan might be a brother of Malcolm, but again have no "source". Some connection sent Jane to Quebec. See my discussion with T. Brown called "Sillars of Glaster, Kilmory, Bute, Scotland". My line is James-Daniel-Sherman Everett-Hibbert Ludlow-me, Sylvia Sillers.
