My grandmother, Mariana Silveira, came to Calif. in 1892. In 1905 they were in the Gustine/Newman area and were dairy farmers. She married Antone Faustino Pedroza aka Pedroso. My aunt Lena was baptized in Newman in 1905. Antone's brother Joseph was also in the area. Mariana had 3 brothers, Joaquin and John Silveira and Manuel Sousa, who had a son named John Philip Sousa, who used to have a car dealership in Tracy.
