Charlotte, You may never see this message, but yours was interesting to me and I just had to respond. My grandfather Matthew Lenore Walsh, in the 1900 census of Corning Ark., was a boarder in the home of an Edward Silverberg.I feel sure it was your ancestor. In this census your Edward was listed as 71, born in Mississippi, he was widowed. Others in the household, other than my grandfather, were Anne,32yrs of age, daughter in law, born in Arkansas and Eula who was said to be a grand-daughter and she was 14 yr of age, born in Arkansas.
My grandfather was from Little Rock and worked on the railroad so had to be out of town often. He was killed near Stamps Ark while on the job. He slipped on new gravel along the tract and was fatally injured by the wheels of the train. My mother was only two years old.
It is nice to know something about Mr. Silverberg that knew my grandfather. Gloria Tyler Taylor
