HI Paul!I am writing to share with you the onset of a new SILVEY Surname Project with Family Tree DNA.I signed on as administrator of the project, and we need some partial lineages in the Silvey surname to help get the project launched, I won't do because I have no direct male Silvey YDNA in my blood, although I was a direct descendent of Tom Grady Silvey of Georgia, I got his blood though one of his daughters, Caroline.
Since you and I have a link to George Washington Silvey in Georgia/Texas, and since you have the grail (IE, the male Silvey line), you are in a perfect place to help launch the project. All is involved is two cotton swabs in your cheeks, done by you, and some postage.Wait 6 weeks and bingo, your results.I suggest that if you do this to go for more markers than the basic 12, this will help to bring even more definition to lineage distances.
IF you are interested, go to Family Tree DNA at http://www.familytreedna.com/name_search.asphttp://www.familytreedna.com/name_search.asp
and become the "Adam" of the project.I'll try to get Aubrey Silvey to join too, for two Adams.Yes we need "Adams" for this project.Do you have a male Silvey descendent to aproach about this exciting new development?
Best from Jim Simpson
