With similar names and places, I just had to put in my 2 cents. My ggg grandfather, Alexander SIM was born 1784 in Scotland (tombstone ins.). He married Jannette _____ b. abt. 1780 (1850 Fed. Census) and resided in Perth 1810 at the birth of their daughter, Margaret. Margaret married John ANDERSON b. 1807 Morayshire Sct. The Sim family emigrated to America in 1831 (naturalization record) and settled in Andes Co. NY. John Anderson and Margaret migrated to Ogle Co., IL by 1850 (Fed. Census) and Jennett/Jannette age 70 is shown living with the John Anderson family at that time. Alexander Simís gravestone in Ogle Co. IL shows he died in 1848.
